About this app
Sudoku Solver is an Android app that lets you use your camera to take a photo of a sudoku puzzle. The app recognizes the digits in the photo and then helps you by giving a hint for the next digit, automatically solving the puzzle, or checking whether the digits filled in so far can still lead to a valid solution.
What data is processed
- Camera photos — photos of the sudoku are processed exclusively on your own device (digit recognition via Google ML Kit, fully on-device). They are not uploaded to a server and not shared with third parties.
- Language preference — your chosen app language (Dutch/English) is stored locally on your device so the app remembers which language you use. This data never leaves your phone.
- Advertising data — the app shows ads via Google AdMob. Google may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data as part of this. On first use of the app you'll see a consent screen (where legally required, e.g. within the EEA) letting you choose whether to allow personalized ads. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information on how Google processes this data.
What we don't do
- We do not store photos or puzzle data on our own servers.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties, other than as described above for advertising via Google AdMob.
- The app does not require an account or registration.
Permissions
The app requests camera access so it can take a photo of the sudoku. Without this permission the app cannot recognize a puzzle, but you can still enter a sudoku manually.
Data retention
Photos you take are temporarily stored locally to recognize the digits, and are not kept any longer than needed for that processing. Your language preference remains stored until you remove the app from your device.

If this privacy policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. We recommend checking this page periodically.
